Sprucing up your Home; One Step at a Time by: Bologna | Edited by: Bologna

In this week's article of Sprucing up your Home, we find ourselves approaching the bedroom. We will discuss the master bedroom, the child's room, and the nursery.
Master bedrooms can be quite tricky, especially for those who build huge, huge rooms. While the master bedroom is supposed to be bigger than the average room, building it too big just looks bad. Sims don't need a huge amount of space to move around in, so keep that in mind. Avoid perfect square rooms as well.
Now, once you have the shape of the room, it's time to add some carpet and paint. When I make homes, I usually stick to the same color carpet throughout the house. I've never seen a home with a different color carpet in every room, so I don't do it that way either. It's completely up to you however, your Sims are the ones living in it. Paint or wallpaper can look good, or bad. Matching up the color of your walls to the color of furniture is always a pleasure to the eyes.
Now that that's done, it's on to the furnishing. A bed is...well...smart, don't you think? Usually a big bed that looks nice, if you have the simoleans for it that is. A dresser is nice too, some dressers can hold things on top of them like flowers, if you choose one of those dressers and put flowers on them, it adds a nice touch to the room. Another cool thing to do is put a mirror or a painting above the dresser if it is short enough. A bed stand is a good idea as well. One that you can put a lamp, flowers, or other decoration on. And if the room is big enough, perhaps put a mini office in the corner! And no master bedroom would be complete without it's own bathroom!
If it's a child/teenager's room you're looking to create, those can be very fun. A small bed and dresser are the obvious things. If it is a child, toys of course! A doll house for the girls and a toy box for the boys. But if it's a teenager, maybe giving them their own computer or a radio would be more suitable. Have fun with these rooms, theres a lot you can add for your child or teenage sims!
Nursery's are always fun rooms, and if you happen to have picked up Freetime, they are even more fun! But , of course you don't need Freetime to make a nice nursery. All you need is a crib, changing table, and a small chair or sofa. You could also add some paintings for the younger viewers or curtains for the windows. And it's never to early to start buying toys. Get the little newborn started right, buy your tot toys and training potty right away!
That actually is all we have for this week. Who knows what's in store next week? I guess you'll have to look to find out!
